Like what James said , you have to focus on what they like, you can’t just assume he/she’s gonna like what you get them

The best thing would be to focus on what he likes. My daughter is autistic and she always loved crafting. That was her stress relief so anything we got her that was on a crafting level she LOVED. She would even spend hours with pipe cleaners crafting them into animals and such. Anything that helps him focus his mind is a huge help.

Definitely something intellectual and hands- on, like blocks, or a Rubik's cube

~The new extremly popular "Adult" coloring books with gel pens or colored pencils are very popular right now and a great hands on non electronic option.

~Outdoor play ideas such as a new bike, basketball, baseball and mitt/ball & bat. Bubbles, hula hoops, skates.

~Building blocks

~Puzzles

~Books

~Something to start a collection of such as rocks, baseball or Pokemon type cards, fossils etc..

~Clay or Playdoh

~Play dinosaurs or other animals he can play with while using his hands.
