Depending on how old it is, if it is a puppy I would recommend getting puppy pads and laying them out so it can use them. If it is a older dog I would start by getting a leash and taking it outside every few minutes to use the bathroom. I hope this helps.

Ok so those bells that hang on the door are great for helping the dog let you know when they need to go out... so to get to that point take your pooch out to potty in the morning, and hr or 2 after breakfast and then then every 4 hrs until dinner and then 2 hrs after dinner. Every time you walk out the door either take ur dogs mouth/nose or paw to the bell and have then jingle it... this way they learn that is routine for going outside.

Take your dog outside frequently. This is the most important thing you can do to teach your dog to relieve himself outside.

Let the puppy or dpg out often through out the day. Start off with puppy pads inside moving closer and closer to the door until your outside with the pads. Make sure when you move the pads outside to let the dog out every 30 minutes or less and reward him/her when it does go potty outside.
